Arnim Zola and Digital Zola

Arnim Zola was a HYDRA scientist who died in 1972. His mind was copied and stored under Camp Lehigh, but it's not the same Zola. It's a digital recreation of him, much like Phil Coulson/Chronicom LMD is a digital recreation of Phil Coulson. We don't put Coulson-LMD's history on the same page as original Coulson's history, so why should we for Zola?

I think we should split Zola into two pages. One of them, Arnim Zola, would be about the human Zola, and another one (maybe call it Arnim Zola/Digital Recreation or something) would be about the new version of him, that was blown up by the missile in TWS. VerumWiki (talk) 20:05, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

So, there's a substantial difference between Zola and Coulson. When the Chronicom LMD of Coulson was created, his mind was recreated using the memories stored from old files (namely the Framework) and updated with post-Framework information. In the case of Zola, I believe the exact word they use is that his mind was "uploaded" to the computer, meaning there was no recreation involved. So while they are both human minds that were transferred into computers, there's a major difference between the two. A better comparison to Zola would be Janet Stein, whose article was also not separated, since she, like Zola, remained the same person even as she got uploaded to the Healing Algorithm. I checked the scene, and the word Zola uses is "save" to refer to becoming an AI, saying "Science could not save my body. My mind, however, that was worth saving, on 200,000 feet of databanks". To be fair, that does leave it open as to whether his mind was copied onto the databanks or directly uploaded to it, but it was 1970s-era technology and I don't think they would've had the means to actually transfer his mind into a digital form. "Save" definitely does imply that its the same mind, since he's using save as in "rescue," not as in "keep a copy of a digital file." Regarding the technology of the era, the S.W.O.R.D. Drone is said to be 80s tech despite being pretty advanced, so it's not much of a concern. We also don't make edits based on speculation, so it will remain one article. As I mentioned, what happens to Zola is more similar to what happens to Janet Stein, for whom we do have only one article.

I agree with splitting the pages. I don't see how it's possible it's the same mind; it's very clearly just an upload of the original in my perspective. What If...? showed us that there are two copies of his consciousness. To me, this is a strong indication that this Zola is a copy. Criszz (talk) 08:40, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

What If...? showed us that that universe had two copies, but did not confirm whether that is the case in the main universe. In fact, the place where Zola is kept in that episode is the same place where the climax of Civil War happened, and there was no Zola there.
